Vintage Easy Peasy Jewelry
Easy elegant jewelry! Each kit contains over 90 pieces of collaged art plus over 90 collaged overlays with a vintage vibe. Cut out and layer the collaged paper and coordinating transparencies. Sandwich the images and transparencies between Memory Glass and place inside a Memory Frame, or glue them inside a Patera jewelry piece and seal with Diamond Glaze.
Tip: Sometimes the combination of Diamond Glaze and the paper or transparency may cause colors to bleed - to prevent this, rub a very thin layer of Aleene's Tacky Craft Glue over the front of the paper or transparency before setting with Diamond Glaze.
This book features birds, vintage ladies, butterflies, travel images, botanicals, and more. Perfect as necklaces, bracelets, earrings, key rings, Christmas ornaments, card charms, etc.

Transfers and Altered Images
Transfers and Altered Images: with Acrylic Paints, Gels, Mediums, & Pastes by Chris Cozen, Working Artist, Golden Artist Colors
Chris Cozen, author of the wildly popular Altered Surfaces book, now explains all the many ways to make transfers using various acrylic products. Make gorgeous face-to-face transfers, gel "skin" transfers, and faux transfers, plus learn how to use Golden's new Digital Ground Products. With 90 sample projects shown, this book is as full of color as her last one. 36 pages.
From the Preface:
Everyone is fascinated by the "transfer" process. Making something move from one place to another is a pretty cool trick by anyone's standards. Transfers allow for the seamless application of images and text on many surfaces, eliminating the cut edges and bumpy surfaces that are visible in traditional collage techniques.
I'll show you what you can do with your stash of acrylic paints and products, your home computer, and visits to your local copy shop. You will learn a few new things about working with the transparent qualities of some of the paints and, best of all, how to handle those transfers that "fail".

If you have ever wondered about all those types of acrylic paints, mediums, glazes, and other interesting sounding Art Substances from Golden, this is the book to explain it all to you! Every page is filled with colorful pictures and packed with information. Written by a Golden Working Artist who explains each product clearly and shows how to use them alone and together for spectacular results. 48 pages.
From the Preface:
If you like color like I do, then you will discover paints that are richly and generously packed with artist pigments, which will provide you with smooth, luscious and incredible results! Once you start using these artist grade paints you may never go back to "craft" or "student" grade paints which have far less pigment.
You'll discover that acrylic paints, fluids, gels, mediums, grounds, and pastes work as a "system", allowing them to be fully compatible with each other. You can mix and match to your hearts content without worry!

More Amazing Angelina
Betty Blais has another book showing how versatile Angelina really is. This time she talks about two versions of Angelina that didn't exist when she wrote the first book: crimped cut and the film. There is a short chapter on the crimped cut, explaining how it differs from the original, straight cut, fibers. She says all the projects from book one work well with the crimped cut, too.
The meat of the book is the chapters on using the Angelina film, which is the material from which the fibers are cut. The film reacts totally differently than the shreds, and she shows just how to work with it to best advantage. Betty walks through the steps of mixing, bonding, and creating fabulous sparkle, texture and color for any project. The last chapter of the book is an extensive gallery of Angelina work with commentary on techniques. Since Betty is a quilter, many of these works are fabric-based, but the techniques will often translate well to paper.
Pictures on nearly every page plus both covers. 26 page booklet, 8.5" x 11".

Simply Soldered
Simply Soldered: Jewelry, Frames, Boxes, Accents & More! by Cary Edelmann Avery with Beckah Krahula, Opie and Linda O'Brien, Ramona Dolan Ashman, Tom Ashman, Laura Dehart, and Linda Raul.
A Design Originals book about making jewelry and other fun things using solder. This technique is sometimes known as Faux Soldering or Glass Soldering, and can be used with clear or frosted Memory Glass Slides and Memory Foil Tape. It has nice instructions for beginners complete with pictures of the tools and supplies required. Now you can make charms of virtually anything - Scrabble tiles, game pieces, pottery shards, coins.
We used to think of soldering as something you do to attach wires to a board, but now we understand what is happening with soldering glass! You are not really soldering things together so much as covering strips of copper foil with solder, which is a nice shiny silvery color because it's mostly tin. Along the way you can solder on a jump ring, of course, to make a charm or pendant, so there is some attaching going on. More importantly, you are creating a nice frame around an object to make it into jewelry.

The Art of Decoupage
Special Purchase "The Art of Decoupage" by Roberta Harman. 24 pages (including covers and 4 single-sided pages with images to use for decoupage.) 8.5" x 11". $1.50
A blast from the past! This booklet on how to do decoupage was published in 1966 and the hairdo on the author's photo proves it!
We call it Altered Art now-a-days, but cutting out paper images and gluing them to a non-paper surface has traditionally been known as decoupage. It is an art form that has been around since the 17th Century, probably originating in Venice and then spreading throughout Europe.
Ms. Harman gives a lot of good, basic information that you don't see people mentioning a lot these days. Tips on cutting, for instance. A great method for lining a box with velvet. She even decoupages on mirrors! Here's a piece of trivia for you: one who decoupages is a decoupeur!
Bound into the center are 4 sheets with wonderful black and white images for you to cut out or copy and use for decoupage. Flowers, carousel horses, an old-fashioned sailing ship, a pocket watch, an imposing coat-of-arms with lions rampant, a mild maid and one of her charges, birds, butterflies, cathedral ruins, and more. Most of them look very antique. These images are worth the price all by themselves!
Along the sides of the pages are interesting pictures of very elegant antiques that were decoupaged long ago.
The index lists the following sections:
- Introduction
- Tools, Supplies and Their Uses
- Coloring Prints
- Cutting Out Prints
- Antiquing
- Gold Leafing
- The Use of Gesso
- Lining a Box
- Prints
- Decoupage on Wooden Surfaces
- Decoupage on Metal Surfaces
- Decoupage on Glass Surfaces
- Decoupage on a Mirror
- Distressed Decoupage
- Decoupage With Plastic
